With making my Shaklee 180 smoothies and all my favourite juices from Juice Buff, I have been using my blender a lot. One of the things I disliked the most about using blenders in the past was the clean up after you were done blending. I finally found a solution that makes clean up quick and easy and causes me to reach for my blender much more often.
I discovered that I can actually use a mason jar right on my blender. The blade portion of your blender will fit perfectly onto the opening of a regular mouth mason jar. I have tried both pint and quart sized jars, and they both work fine, but I prefer the pints as it is usually just the right size for how much I want to have blended.
To use a mason jar on your blender, simply unscrew and remove the three parts of the blade portion on your blender {the blade itself, the rubber ring, and the screw on cap}. I do not have any special blender. In fact, it is one of the most inexpensive ones I could find a few years ago, so whatever type of blender you have, the blade portion should work just fine!
After you are done filling the mason jar with your ingredients, place the rubber ring on top. Then fit the blade into the jar and screw on the cap {make sure it is on tight}.
Turn the mason jar over, insert it onto your blender {just as you would the regular blender glass top}, and blend away.
Clean up is a breeze as all you need to do is give those three parts a quick rinse and you can drink your smoothie right from the mason jar {special stripey straws are always a fun touch, too}. If you need to measure any ingredients into your smoothie {for instance, you know you need to use a cup of milk}, I would recommend using the Ball Mason jars that have the ounce measurements right on the side for you!
